ACAPULCO, MEXICO, – Classic Vacations’ Federico Moreno-Nickerson, Director of Product Development Mexico and Caribbean, spoke at the lunch at the opening of the XXXV Tianguis Turistico, Mexico’s leading travel business marketplace event April 25.
Moreno-Nickerson, the only representative of the US travel wholesale and online travel agency community, and first Mexican to ever to speak on their behalf at the event, shared the table of honor with Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, Mexico’s Secretary of Tourism and President of the Mexico Tourism Board, Gloria Guevara Manzo, FONATUR’s Director General Miguel Gomez Mont, Zeferino Torreblanca Galindo, Governor of the State of Guerrero, Manuel Añorve Baños, Mayor of the City of Acapulco, Pablo Azcarraga, President of the National Council of Tourism Investors and Managing Director of Hotel Operations for Grupo Posadas.
This invitation was an honor for Moreno-Nickerson as Mexico is one of Classic’s top destinations and, hailing from Mexico, he is extremely passionate about his country. He enjoyed speaking about how to position Mexico as a desirable luxury destination among the affluent consumer in the US by properly communicating what makes Mexico extraordinary from the culture and beaches to nature and history. He also shared Classic Mexico’s undisputed leadership in the luxury segment.

One hundred special guests, including state governors and federal and state government officials, key hotel developers, and other wholesalers, also attended the opening ceremony at the International Acapulco Conventions Center. XXXV Tianguis Turistico took place from April 25 to April 28, 2010.
