Conde Nast Traveler magazine has just published the results of a Readers’ Poll ranking the top 100 Golf Resorts. One would expect it to be the Lodge at Pebble Beach (#17) or Four Seasons Hualalai in Hawaii (#2), but sitting atop the list is the Four Seasons Punta Mita, just north of Puerto Vallarta. With a championship course designed by Jack Nicklaus and an opulent serenity setting with impeccable service, this is one of Mexico’s finest, and priciest, resorts.
Mexico has developed many world-class golf courses in the past 20 years, most notably those located in the Los Cabos region in Baja California Sur. However, Puerto Vallarta, the Costa Alegre north of Manzanillo, the Riviera Maya and Acapulco are also popular destinations for serious golfers. Many golf groups find Mexico to be a convenient and reasonably priced choice, offering challenging courses with great accommodations.
Two other Mexico resorts to make the Traveler list are the Westin Resort Los Cabos at #12, and One and Only Palmilla Losa Cabos as #13.
