Mexico, DF June 2009 Grupo Presidente, its Hotel Operators, Restaurants and Vacation Club, obtained their “H” Distinction certification as part of their commitment to offer national and international tourists the highest quality and hygiene standards at the more than 50 restaurants and bars they operate in 11 hotels in major cities and beach destinations in Mexico.
Each restaurant at the ten Presidente InterContinental luxury hotels located in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Puebla, Mérida, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa, Cancún and Cozumel, and the La Noria Holiday Inn in Puebla, has been distinguished once again this year with the “H” Distinction (a certification sponsored by the Federal Health and Tourist Secretariats) for demonstrating safe handling practices in their reception and storage of raw materials, and food and beverage processing.

The Group’s corporate decision to participate in the “H” Program that complies with Mexican Norm NMX-F605 NORMEX 2004 was made to reaffirm its culture of quality and continuous improvement to be on the cutting edge and on the level of the best restaurants and hotels around the world. The “H” Distinction means that the Group trained more than 1,000 of its employees that work in the hotels’ kitchen, stewarding, maintenance, storage, comptrollership, and human resources divisions. These initiatives included the implementation of strict control standards in safe and hygienic food reception and handling practices; the implementation of different control procedures in warehouses, refrigerated chambers, kitchens and consumer centers, and the bi-annual issue of health cards for all workers involved in the food and beverage handling practices, among other initiatives.
