Journalism Jobs

by Ron Mader

Mexico Weekly has posted a Journalismjobs.com listing announcing employment for “energetic, ambitious journalists.” Kudos to the publishers for this new effort in providing an alternative to foreign coverage that too often focuses on violence and natural disasters.  Knowledge about Mexico is preferred and Spanish fluency is a must.

  1. I am a working journalist about to conclude a 16-year career at a newspaper in St. George, Utah. I have been a reporter, bureau chief, columnist/local news editor during my time there. I am leaving the newspaper on April 15 to move to Los Cabos San Jose. Already have a residence acquired. I want to continue writing. There are terrific stories about in-migration of U.S. citizens, the environment along the Sea of Cortez (often referred to as the world’s aquarium), the sea turtles in Todos Santos and, of course, whale nurseries up and down the eastern shores of Baja. There is also the world class fishing, boating, surfing, spring break. Interested? My experience ranges from major metros (L.A. Times Orange County bureau many years ago and L.A. Herald-Examiner) to The Spectrum in St. George, Utah.
