It is said that the difference between Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods, the two best male golfers ever, is that Jack was content to win a tournament by one-stroke, whereas Tiger wants to beat you like a rented mule. For the record, Tiger has won five straight tournaments, dating back to last season. He never looks like he’s having much fun (he could take a lesson from Phil Mickelsen here), but he is the best…male golfer.
Without question, Mexico’s Lorena Ochoa is the best female player in the world. Looking very Tiger-esque, she has just won the HSBC Women’s Championship in Singapore by an astounding 11 strokes, over second-place, past world’s best, Annika Sorenstam. The 25-year-old Guadalajara native has probably yet to reach her prime, but has already become an iconic figure in her home country. We will be hearing a lot more from this bright, compassionate athlete for years to come, both on and off the golf course.
